Inside and externally, the new Nissan Kicks SUV is redesigned to resemble the Indonesian-sold Mitsubishi XForce SUV
Prior to its official premiere at the New York Motor Show in 2024, the new Nissan Kicks has been made public. The new Kicks shares many characteristics with the Mitsubishi X-Force SUV, which is available in Indonesia and a few other territories, and is somewhat larger in all dimensions.

A worldwide SUV will be the new Nissan Kicks
Depending on the market, there were two variants of the discontinued Kicks SUV. Although the outside designs of the two variants were quite similar, the version that was sold in India was built on the same B0 platform as other Nissan and Renault SUVs, such as the Duster and the Captur. Based on the V platform, which was available for purchase in markets like North America, the ASEAN region, and a few other nations, came the second iteration of the Kicks. The Nissan Micra and the Sunny sedan were both built on the same base as this iteration.
All markets are now served by a single platform for the second generation Kicks. The SUV now shares its foundation, body panels (with minor design modifications), interior components, and a few other mechanical parts with the Mitsubishi XForce SUV for the ASEAN market. Although Nissan has not disclosed the platform that powers the Kicks, the XForce SUV is built on an updated, long-standing version of the Mitsubishi GS platform. It supports the Nissan Livinia MPVs in Indonesia as well as the new Kicks SUV and the XForce.
As Nissan’s entry-level SUV in North America and a few other territories, the Kicks will be offered for sale in both left- and right-hand drive markets worldwide.
Features and design of the new Nissan Kicks
The doors, roof, and a few other body elements of the fashionable new Nissan Kicks are shared with the XForce SUV. It has a tapering roofline akin to a smart coupe and a glasshouse as well. It has matte black body cladding throughout, chunky-looking wheel arches, and massive 19-inch alloy wheels on top variants that resemble concept cars. Regarding design, the front of the redesigned Kick features a sizable black-finished section encircling the grille that is harmoniously integrated with horizontal LEDs. Across the breadth of the tailgate, a black trim blends in with the distinctively curved LED taillamps at the back.
Nissan claims that the interior of the new Kicks is made of higher-quality materials than before. Among other things, the spacious 12.3-inch infotainment screen is the main draw. Similar to the Xforce, the new Kicks’ dashboard is double-layered, but the materials used for the AC vents and even the screen are of higher quality than those used in the Mitsubishi. It has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, four USB-C ports, a wireless charging pad, touch-sensitive climate control and HVAC settings, and more.A panoramic sunroof, which is unavailable on the Mitsubishi XForce, is another feature of the new Kicks. Some models additionally include BOSE speakers positioned on the headrests.
New Nissan Kicks technology and safety
The 2018 Kicks come equipped with Nissan Safety Shield 360 ADAS Suite as standard equipment, which includes Intelligent Cruise Control. The Nissan ProPILOT Assist system, which incorporates steering assistance to help keep the driver centered in their lane, is an upgrade for the top model.
Will the new Nissan Kicks be available in India
Although the previous generation Kicks was available in India for a short period of time, Nissan’s sales there were disastrous. Since then, the brand has survived on a single model lineup, which in our market includes the reasonably priced Magnite compact SUV. Although the launch date is still a ways off, Nissan will introduce an MPV based on the Renault Triber as well as an SUV with its own badge based on the recently released Renault Duster. The new Nissan Kicks are not anticipated to arrive in India very soon.
